  I really loved this weeks review Blondie. Funny, you prepare us better and sooner than most dubs prepare even themselves for the Sunday meeting.

  Do we feel the same way if our Christian garments become stained, as it were, because of some flaw in our personality or conduct? (Of course, if an elder has a flaw in his personality or conduct pointed out to him, he will say, "we’ll only imperfect men.")

  No kidding; isn't that precious? Same can be said when we question the WTS

  And your illustration was spot on RE waiting.

  instead of bringing out the negatives about being a witness, let's relate some good experiences!

  i'll start.

  i remember a sister that brought up all her kids up in the "truth" and her husband was very opposed but later he started studying and he even got baptized.

  Have The Elders Ever Told You They Needed To Speak 2 You After The Meeting?

  i wonder how many times an elder approached you before the meeting to say, "after the meeting, we would like to talk to you about something".

  you know that feeling-----remember???

  the entire meeting you tried not to think about whatever it was they needed to talk to you about.

  Oh my Mary, that's too rich! If an elder lobbed a softball like that at me it would be really hard not to respond the way you did.

  Recently I had an elder asked me if I got his phone message that he wanted to get together with me.

  I said, "Yes, but I just ignored your message and didn't call you back."

  "Oh.... , ..., well, I'd still like to get together and talk with you about the Q's you have."

  Ya, I'm sure that will be an open discussion.

  you ever been driving, and traffic builds up coming up to an accident?

  human nature being what it is, everyone stops to see the accident.

  of course, by the time we get there, we are so pissed at the traffic, we slow down ourselves to make sure we see what all the fuss was about.. compare that perhaps to seeing the biggest accident of them all, bethel.

  The minute you come in contact with a Jehovah's Witness you are instantly categorized into one or more categories or perhaps subcategories of someone's imagination.

  Let's look at how many levels of acceptability and "equality" there are: Satan, very worldly, worldly, householder (two levels: bad call, good call), return visit, regular stop on magazine route, study, study making progress, approved associate, study attending meetings, .....

  ...ministerial servants (sound, maintenance, literature, microphones), anointed, congregation elders (school, service, accounts, congregation overseers), Circuit Overseer, District Overseer (the "traveling" brothers), Assembly Overseers ...

  If you become a Jehovah's Witness, you spend your whole existence going from one category to another category, ...all of this is based on your time sheet, your attendance and your ability to read and spit back mundane propagandized material from a Watch Tower publication and/or your gender...

  ...It has nothing to do whatsoever with your spirituality or qualities as a human being...

  ...the turmoil in the ranks can't be seen with the naked worldly eye who is presented with this picture of "unity."

  It would be funny except for the fact that it's so true...

  my younger brother, who has been "inactive" for about 8 years, has decided that everything wrong about his life is due to his not being "right with jehovah".

  Preaching Slowdown

  i can remember numerous talks and study articles about how the preaching work would get more and more intense as we near the end.. one so called prophetic illustration that stands out in my mind was when joshua and his men marched around the city each day and then just before the city fell they marched seven times signifying a quickening of the preaching work.. it seems starkingly obvious that the preaching,is in decline amonst jw's,the jw's are seen less and less often in my neighbourhood,it is very rare to see them out street witnesing around the town centres and railway stations,the average jw spends far less time preaching than a decade ago.. it seems like their chief brag is definately on the wain,in favour of other recruitment methods.
